Expat New Yorker James Penha (he/him) lives in Indonesia. Nominated for Pushcart Prizes in fiction and poetry, his work is widely published. Winner of the New Sins Press Poetry Book Competition, his book No Bones to Carry was released in 2006. Snakes and Angels, his adaptations of three Indonesian folk tales, won the 2009 Cervena Barva Fiction Chapbook Competition. His newest chapbook of poems American Daguerreotypes is available for Kindle. Two of the stories in this collection earned finalist status in recent Saints and Sinners Literary Festival Short Fiction Contests. Penha edits The New Verse News, an online journal of current-events poetry.
